The Power of Prayer
2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Prayer is simply talking with God and it’s an expression of our relationship with Him. What is that relationship? God is our Father and we are His children. As such, we are dependent on Him. Relationships with God are monitored by our prayers because that's how we interact with Him directly and immediately. It is how we speak to Him and how we hear Him. It is how we develop an emotional relationship with Him. Prayer is you and God interacting, discussing, and responding to one another.
Prayer opens a path where you spiritually involve your soul consistently in intimacy and passion with the Lord. When you have an intimate relationship with someone and you know that they love you unconditionally, it becomes very easy to open up to them and share from the abundance of your heart. Speak with God with confidence and belief (Ephesians 3:12), with joy (Acts 2:28) and with the expectation that He is going to deliver (Psalms 5:3).
God has given us the “60 Second Prayer” to express His marvelous works to perform and as a testimony of His goodness to those which call upon His name. 60 seconds can change your life and impact this world for the Lord. When Christians corporately cease from whatever they are doing for 60 seconds, on the hour, to pray, it will corporately provoke God’s attention. Just as the widow woman mentions in Luke 18:1-5: And he spake in a parable unto them to this end, that men ought to always pray and not to faint; Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: and there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, ”avenge me of mine adversary". And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, though I fear not God, nor regard man; yet because this widow troubleth me. I will avenge her lest by her continual coming she weary me”. Imagine what will take place as we take just 60 seconds each hour of the day to call on the Lord. It’s enough for Him to stop and answer our prayers for people to be saved, set free, healed, and delivered.
Set your cell phones, watches, clocks, or computers to notify you at the top of each hour. You can be riding along in your car, shopping for groceries, sitting in a business meeting or jogging in the park and still experience 60 seconds of prayer with the Lord without missing a beat. Praying does not mean that you have to speak outwardly, close your eyes, or bow to your knees. This communication with the Lord can be done inwardly in your heart and you never have to open your mouth. Pray in the spirit, give the Lord thanks, and pray for others salvation, healing, and deliverance.
